The LOCC Announced 2021 and 2022 Salaries for Township Elected Officials

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Last Friday, the Local Officials Compensation Commission have one of their bi-annually meetings.

The commission meets bi-annually to discuss and determine salaries for township elected officials including the Meridian Township Board and Park Commission.

In a public meeting, the commission agreed that the Township Supervisor will be paid $23,084 in 2021 and with an increase to $23,545 in 2022.

The commission also agreed that the Township Clerk and Treasurer will be paid a salary of $76,741 for 2021 and will receive an increase to $78,276 in 2022.

Meridian Township Board Trustees will receive a salary of $11,617 for 2021 and will also have an increase to $12,117 in 2022.

Park Commissioners will be paid $50 per meeting or work session, with a max of 24 meetings per year, the LOCC said.

No Meridian Township Board members rejected the proposal. As a result, the proposal will be enacted 30 days after it is filed.
