Meridian Township Road Closures Due to Flooding

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Tuesday, January 30:

Okemos Road is now open and the barricades have been removed.

Saturday, January 27:

Due to heavy rainfall and snow melt, roads in Meridian Township are beginning to experiencing flooding, and the Ingham County Road Department is working to barricade flooded sections.

Please adhere to road closure signs, and until they have been barricaded, please do not attempt to drive through flooded areas.

The following roads in Meridian Township are areas of concern that should be avoided even if they have not yet been barricaded:

-Okemos Road from Central Park Drive to Gaylord C. Smith Court.
-Hillcrest Avenue at Seminole Drive.
-Nakoma Drive south of Hamilton Road.
-Ottawa Drive at Nakoma Drive.

Ferguson Park and Wonch Park are also closed at this time. As a friendly reminder and for your own safety, please avoid any flooded areas in Township parks and trails system especially those located along the Red Cedar River.
