Student Speaks Out on Alleged Rape by MSU Athletes

EAST LANSING - Michigan State University (MSU) is in hot water again after student Bailey Kowalski accused MSU basketball players of raping her in 2015.

Kowalski addressed the media on April 11 around 1:30 pm stating she is speaking up now because she is "no longer afraid or ashamed."

Kowalski claimed she was raped by basketball players in 2015, according to a New York Times article.

When Kowalski reported this to MSU counselors, she said they discouraged her from taking this report to the police.

The MSU student has filed a federal lawsuit against MSU, claiming her title IX rights were violated.

At the press conference, Kowalski stated that she does not want to be seen as a victim, she sees herself as a survivor.

She has not identified the players that she is accusing of rape, and no criminal charges have been filed at this time.
