MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The swearing in ceremony for Sergeant Rick Grillo and Officer Brian Canen was held this Friday afternoon.

Sergeant Rick Grillo was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and Officer Brian Canen was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, taking his place.

"It's pretty amazing, it's always been a goal of mine to reach this point in my career and I'm very excited," Lieutenant Grillo said.

Several Township employees, officers, board members and family and friends came out to see the officers get sworn into their new positions.

"I've been an officer for 19 years so I have a bit of experience and hopefully I can help the new officers with how to do their job," Sergeant Canen said.
