Park Commission Meeting at Towner Road Park

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On June 12 the Meridian Township Park Commission Board at Towner Road Park for their regular meeting. Towner Road Park is a soon to be open newly built park.
Amenities of the park as discussed in the meeting, included pickle ball courts, a pavilion and more.

The the only action item on the agenda that was discussed was the acceptance of the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Grant Agreement. This is the first step in allowing for an all accessible pavilion area to be built at the Harris Nature Center.

The Grant Acceptance was approved and now the Park Commission will wait to see if the Township Board will approve it as well.

One of the other major discussion items was presented in more detail by the Vice Chair of the board Amanda Lick. Able Eyes is an organization that helps provide experiences to people with or around disabilities relieve uncertainty of the unknown. The Park Commission discussed possibly partnering with this organization to bring more inclusion to our parks. It is still up for discussion so there will be more details to come later.
