MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On Tuesday, August 21st, the Township Board held a study session meeting discussing the topic of whether Medical Marihuana should be allotted and regulated within the township.
After a long deliberation, many of the board members were for the idea of the implementation of the Township. "I think it's a great opportunity for our Township to be proactive and be the leaders of this business..." said Brett Dreyfus, Meridian Township Clerk.
However, implementations and ordinances for the business in the Township will be at halt until January of 2018.
Due to provision center placement issues, due to zoning, unofficial information from the Michigan's Bureau of Medical Marijuana Regulation, and with the Board's continued focus on the master building plan of the Township - the Board came to a mutual agreement to lessen the priority of the ordinance for now.
