MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - It's that time of year again; it's darker earlier and people are out and about preparing for the holidays. But are you truly prepared for whatever might happen?

According to the Meridian Township Police website, the number of aggravated/felonious assaults between July 1, 2015 and Sept. 30, 2015 was 16, which is 5 more offenses than last year during that same time period. The number of offenses for burglaries have also jumped from 46 to 59 - it's just another reminder that anyone can be a victim at any time.

Master Faett of Victory Martial Arts in Okemos understands this danger and even says that some of his students were once victims themselves.
