Bringing Out the Best In Meridian Township

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - In an effort to bring out the best in Meridian Township, volunteers and local community members will come together on Saturday, June 20, to help clean up eight local parks, including Ferguson Park, Harris Nature Center, Hillbrook Park, Meridian Historical Village, Marshall Park, Newton Road Park, Orlando Park, and Sander Farm Natural Area.

Nine different volunteer groups will begin working from 9 am until noon on various projects such as maintaining flower beds, pulling out weeds and other invasive species, spreading mulch, and picking up trash.

"Residents have always loved our parks here... that's why our parks look so great. Much of the work that has been done to keep them looking great is done by volunteers like what we're going to see on Saturday," said Philip Deschaine, Meridian Park Commissioner.

The Park Commission is inviting more volunteers to join them and help make Meridian Township the best it can be.

A park clean-up information session will be held on Friday, June 19th at 4 pm at Meridian Township Service Center (Nancy Moore Park). Volunteers will learn more about Love A Park Day and receive yard waste bags, wheelbarrows and other equipment.
