14th Annual "Taste of Okemos" Supports Local Choir

14th Annual

OKEMOS - Saturday, October 26th, was the 14th annual Taste of Okemos!

20 local restaurants from East Lansing, the Okemos area, and even Williamston came together for this one, big event.

The public bought tickets to attend the event and give their taste buds a treat by sampling foods from all of the restaurants that participated.

All of the funds from the event went to the Okemos High School choirs and Choir Director Deb Borton explained what these funds would do for those involved in the choir program.

Borton said, "The funds that we raise today at the Taste of Okemos will go to update our music library, we'll buy new tunes for us to sing, we'll buy choir robes and we'll pay for risers and it helps us with bussing to different events... things that the school districts in Michigan, perhaps around the nation really can't afford right now."

The next choir concert for Okemos High School students will be their winter holiday concert that takes place on Tuesday, December 17th.
