MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Police responded to a retail theft incident at the 2000 Block of Grand River Avenue, where the suspect had fled the scene.

Officers located and arrested the suspect in a nearby parking lot. A witness filmed the incident and turned over the footage to the Meridian Township Police Department. The Police identified content in the video that raised concern about the manner and use of force during the arrest.

The identified officers have been placed on a paid administrative leave while the investigation is ongoing.
