MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, MI - Now that Christmas has wrapped up, many people may be wondering what they can do with their tree. Meridian Township will be accepting Christmas trees for recycling from Monday, December 28th until Sunday, January 31st at Nancy Moore Park (1960 Gaylord C. Smith Court). Trees are able to be dropped off from dawn to dusk. There is no charge for recycling your tree, however, there are some rules to be aware of.
Trees should be free of:
· Wire
· Metal Bracing
· Nails
· Plastic Bags
· Rope
· Christmas Garland
*Wreaths will not be accepted.
Trees and other yard waste can also be recycled at the Meridian Township Recycling Center (5976 E. Lake Drive). The fee is $5-$10 depending upon size. No lights, metal, wire, or decorations will be accepted. Artificial trees are also accepted for a $5 charge.
Winter hours for the Recycling Center are:
· Monday and Friday: 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
· Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
· Saturday: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
