Ingham County Parks Department Not Opening Lake Lansing Beach This Year

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Ingham County Parks Department shared a parks and activities status update both on their website and on a press release.

Due to COVID-19, activities will be limited in each park and some activities and programs will not take place this year.

Ingham County Parks plan to open for summer activities on Friday, June 12, 2020 in accordance with Governor Whitmer’s ‘MI Safe Start Plan’ and Ingham County Health Department guidelines, according to Ingham County Park’s press release.

Along with the cancellation and limitation of certain programs and amenities, all swimming beaches will not be opening this year. The Splash Pad® at Hawk Island is also closed until further notice.

The Ingham County Parks Department said, “The health and safety of our park patrons and staff is of the utmost importance. We appreciate your understanding as we try to navigate these uncertain times, and we look forward to seeing you soon.”
