Meridian Township Moves Forward with 2020 Local Road program

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On Tuesday, May 19th the Meridian Township Board met to discuss the 2020 local road program. Meridian Township Board Trustee Dan Opsommer moved to approve bids from Michigan Paving and Materials Lansing. The construction will start on June 1st.

Dan Opsommer wants Deputy Director Derek Perry to proceed forward with project. The Township Board already approved the roadway that they will do the construction project on, they just needed to approve the bidding from the two companies that will be working on the project. The project will consist of paving 2 miles out of 10 mile stretch of roadway. The bid from Materials Lansing is $523,777 and the bid from Michigan Paving is $827,453.34.

The Meridian Township Board passed the motion 7 to 0 to proceed forward with this project.
