MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township has made the decision to close all Township buildings in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19. All Township meetings scheduled during this time have also been cancelled. This goes into effect Monday, March 16, with the tentative plan to reopen the buildings on Monday, April 6. However, there will be restricted emergency access available at the Public Safety and Fire Stations.
During this time, Township offices will still operate with a limited amount of staff available to answer calls for service should residents of Meridian Township need assistance. The Meridian Township Police, Fire, and medical response teams will still operate at full capacity through this closure.
“As an organization, we take great pride in offering a high level of service to our residents. It is an honor for us to be a beacon of light during a time of crisis for our over 43,000 residents. Whether it was the 2013 ice storm, or the 2015 windstorm, Meridian Township’s goal is to serve with a smile. This makes the decision to close our offices to the public so difficult, but at this time it is the right decision to protect our team and our visitors,” stated Frank L. Walsh, Meridian Township Manager.
