Water Shut-Offs in Meridian Township Suspended Until Further Notice

Water Shut-Offs in Meridian Township Suspended Until Further Notice

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - In response to the ongoing situation regarding COVID-19, officials in Meridian Township have decided that they will not discontinue water service for homeowners with delinquent accounts during this time. Meaning that if Meridian Township residents have unpaid water bills, they will still have access to water. This decision was made in an effort to help reduce the risk of infection spreading.

In addition to the postponement of water shut-offs, the Meridian Township Department of Public Works has also taken steps to help limit the amount of face-to-face interaction by limiting in-person responses to work requests for certain utility problems that arise or service requests that are not time sensitive in order to better protect the community. However, all utility emergencies will still receive a response by the Public Works Team.

“Personal hygiene is critical in fending off COVID-19. A quality water source is a necessity for every Michigander,” stated Frank L. Walsh, Meridian Township Manager.
