Meridian Police Department Promotes One Officer and Hires Another

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township made a couple changes to its Police Department's roster on June 24th.

The changes included hiring a brand new officer, David Reinke, as well as promoting one that has been with Meridian Township for 17 years. Officer Andy Tobias will now take on the role of Sergeant for the Police Department.

Sgt. Tobias is clearly very familiar with Meridian Township and is excited to keep serving this community.

"It's an honor. It really is an honor," he said. "This is a great community. We're blessed to have the residents that we have. We're blessed to have the facilities and the geography that we have."

This ceremony comes shortly after a ceremony that honored some of the townships employees. After that ceremony, Township Manager Frank L. Walsh, said that he needs to do better making sure that everyone in the Township receives the recognition that they deserve.
