MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - A public hearing regarding the Sierra Ridge Streetlights Special Assessment District project was scheduled for the Feb. 19 Township Board meeting, but after no comments from the public or Board, the Board decided to move forward with the project.
A request for the lights was sent to the Township Board back in November from the property owners of Sierra Ridge asking for the 11 streetlights to be installed and maintained along Sleepy Hollow Lane, Fresno Lane and Sacramento Way.
There are two resolutions to this special assessment district. The first orders that plans be prepared to show the location, cost and improvements the lights will bring. The second states that those plans be sent to the Township Clerk's Office declaring the intention to install these lights.
Since there was no comment regarding this project, Meridian Township Supervisor Ron Styka said "let's let them have light."
The resolution will be moved to an action item for the next Township Board meeting.
