Meridian Township Police Investigate Motor Vehicle Crash

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On October 18th at 7:30 a.m., Meridian Township Police were dispatched to the area of Hagadorn Road and Mount Hope Road for a two-vehicle crash involving a pickup truck and a moped.

The crash resulted in the death of a 20 year old male. The crash occurred when the moped turned from north bound Hagadorn onto westbound Mount Hope and collided with the pickup truck which was traveling south.

The driver of the truck was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and the driver of the moped was wearing a helmet. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this incident. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The Meridian Township Police Department was assisted by the Michigan State University Police, Ingham County Sheriff’s Office, East Lansing Police, and the Michigan State Police.
