OKEMOS - Okemos Chiefs Girls Varsity Volleyball took on the East Lansing Trojans in Chiefs nation.

The match started with the Trojans running up the score. But the Chiefs didn’t let that stop them, with good defense and picking up the pace on offense the lady Chiefs lead the Trojans 25-14 pulling out the first win in the first game.

Fast forwarding into game two the lady Chiefs continued to hold the lead 25-17 with major blocks being made throughout the match by #3 Freshman Bethany Hartman with 3.

Game three was a great wrap up with the lady Chiefs closing out the game with high gear stats and standout players. The final score for game 3 was 25-10 bringing the Lady Chiefs overall volleyball record in the lead to 4-1 and overall 9-8.

Key Players for the match were: Junior #1 Natalie Thom who held 5 aces and 45 assists. Junior Abbey Kermel with 11 digs. Freshman Bethany Hartman with 3 blocks as mentioned and to round out the group is Junior Megan Hetrick with 7 kills.

The Lady Chiefs will take on the Waverly Warriors on October 9th at 6:00PM at Okemos. The Warriors have yet to win a game this season.
