Successful Weekend of Football for Haslett and Okemos

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Friday Sep. 15 Haslett and Okemos both took home a win. While Haslett went on the road to Mason, Okemos hosted Lansing Everett at home.
After a scoreless first quarter during the Mason and Haslett game, Mason would be the first to put points up on the board which was also their first score of the season.

The Haslett defense once again, would hold them the rest of the game with a final score of 24-3, beating Mason for the first time in three years.

The Okemos Chieftains who are currently ranked 10th in the state would shut out Lansing Everett, but not without a fight.

Late in the first half Lansing Everett had threatened the Chieftains goal line, but the the Chieftain's defense would hold on and they would go into the half with a score of 18-0.

The second half Lansing Everett couldn't seem to get down the field and with a scoreless first and second half, the Chiefs would end up beating the Vikings 37-0. The chiefs are currently 166-8 in the amount of point scored by an opponent this season.

"We wanted to play with a little more emotion and passion, and I thought our kids did a great job doing that. I thought our kids played really hard and played tough tonight," said Okemos Head Football Coach, Jack Wallace.
Next week Okemos will take on Grand Ledge.
