Haslett Girls Soccer Settles For Tie Against Okemos

OKEMOS - Thursday April 13th, the Haslett and Okemos crosstown rivalry took it to the soccer field.

Okemos and Haslett Girls Soccer would face off for the first time this season. A scoreless first half, but the second half would be a different story.

Haslett Senior Forward, Katelyn Bonhaus would take advantage of the open goal with the assist by Cami Harp. The score remained 1-0 with 36 minutes left to play.

Okemos quickly responded to the goal. On a throw-in by Angelica Davis it would go off of the head of Okemos Sophomore Forward Sara Lee, and would tie the game 1-1.

“I think overall we played good but we were a little spazzy at some points we needed to calm down and keep our heads. We obviously wanted to win, who does, but i’m glad we got the tie,” said Bonhaus.

The rest of the half both teams remained scoreless and would settle for the tie.

“I expect us to improve some more. Okemos is a great team they always are, they always have talented girls. We just want to come out and start playing a little better and improve each week and game by game so we can go far in the districts this year, hopefully win our league and the gold cup,” said Haslett Head Soccer Coach, David Littleton.
