MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - HOMTV continues its tradition of excellence with award-winning election programming.

Ballot Meridian 2016, a series of programs designed to help educate the public on candidates running for office and ballot proposals include live call-in debates, candidate interviews, candidate statements, ballot proposal features and live election night coverage.

Candidate interviews and statements began airing the week of September 26th. Call-in debates begin at 7:00 pm on Monday, October 17th. These programs will also be available on demand on HOMTV’s website. A full program schedule will be available at www.homtv.net. The Ingham County Prosecutor and County Commissioner (11th and 12th District) debates and interviews will be simulcast on CAMTV.

Debate Schedule:

*Ingham County Commissioner 11th District: Monday, October 17th 7:00 - 8:00 pm with Democratic Incumbent Candidate Teri Banas. The Republican Candidate in this race declined participation.

*Meridian Township Supervisor: Wednesday, October 19th 7:00 - 8:00 pm with Republican Candidate Tom Klunzinger and Democratic Candidate Ronald J. Styka.

*Ingham County Commissioner 12th District: Wednesday, October 19th 8:00 - 9:00 pm with Republican Candidate Christopher Pawsat and Democratic Incumbent Candidate Deb Nolan.

*Meridian Township Treasurer: Thursday, October 20th 7:00 - 8:00 pm with Democratic Incumbent Candidate Julie Brixie and Independent Candidate Erik H. Lindquist.

*Ingham County Prosecutor: Tuesday, October 25th 7:00 - 8:00 pm with Republican Candidate Billie Jo O'Berry and Democratic Candidate Carol Siemon.

*Meridian Township Trustee: Tuesday, October 25th 8:00 - 10:00 pm with Republican Candidates Brian Czubak, Debra Lee Piper, and Jared S. Wilson as well as Democratic Candidates Phil Deschaine, Patricia Herring Jackson, Dan Opsommer and Kathy Ann Sundland. We are awaiting confirmation of participation from the third Republican Candidate in this race.

Comcast Cable subscribers in East Lansing, Haslett and Okemos can view the programs by turning to Channel 21 and Channel 30. AT&T U-verse subscribers can view the programs on Channel 99. Viewers will have the opportunity to ask questions during the live debates by calling 517.349.1232. Questions can also be asked on Twitter using the @HOMTV Twitter handle and #BallotMeridian hashtag.

Non-cable subscribers or those who live outside the viewing area will have the opportunity to take part in the debates through a live video stream on HOMTV’s website.
