East Lansing Annihilates Eastern, 39-0

EAST LANSING - After challenging, back-to-back games on the road, the East Lansing Trojans jumped at the chance to redeem themselves in conference play at home, completing a, 39-0, shutout over Lansing Eastern.

It took just a few minutes for this match to lose all meaning of the word competition. East Lansing stacked up a quick 17 points in the first quarter, only outdoing itself in the second with 20.

The second half proved to be a matter of just how fast could the Trojans drain the clock. With a comfortable 37 point lead at halftime, East Lansing ran the clock into oblivion, controlling time of possession for much of the 24 minutes.

On defense, the Trojans were nothing short of perfect. Aided by a punt that pinned Lansing Eastern near its goal-line, the Trojan D put up the only points of the second half stuffing a run in the backfield for a safety.

East Lansing (2-2) goes back on the road to take on rival Holt (2-2) this Friday at 7 p.m. After dropping their first two, the Rams have picked up steam with a most recent, 28-21, victory over Lansing Everett.

Eastern (0-4), meanwhile, will look to enter the win column as it hosts Everett (1-3) Friday at 7 p.m.
