Storm Collapses Awning

HASLETT - The winter storm that hit Meridian Township on Tuesday November 29 caused some extensive damage to the local Marathon Gas station on the corner of Haslett and Marsh Roads. At around 10pm the awning covering the gas pumps collapsed due to the weight of the snow and ice. The gas station was open at the time of the collapse but no cars were using the pumps at that time. There are no injuries and there is no damage done to the pumps. The station hopes to open up later today, Wednesday November 30, after a crane can clear up the mess.
