OKEMOS - National Signing Day is the second Wednesday in November and Okemos High School had 5 student athletes signing to continue playing their sports at the collegiate level. Daria Richards signed her letter of intent to Baylor along side her teammate Rachel Thomas who signed her letter of intent to Tennessee Tech.

Both girl's have been playing with each other since the 6th grade and Coach Jamie Ianni says she's feeling like a proud mother watching both her players grow and move on with their careers.

"I've looked over them since the 6th grade, I told them in 7th that they better try volleyball out because they have potential to be goof," said Coach I, "and that's when they stopped basketball and took up volleyball and look at where they are now."

Kate Buckland of Okemos High also signed her letter of intent to play softball at Mercer University in Georgia. Two lacrosse players signed as well.
