Lake Lansing Road Construction Expected
to Be Completed by Labor Day

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Road work on Lake Lansing Road between East Saginaw Highway (I-69 BR) and Lac Du Mont Drive (east of Okemos Road) is
nearing completion.

"We hope to get the two layers of paving, what we call the base and the leveling course of asphalt done late this week early next week. And then in between times they will be adjusting man hole covers, driveway work, and cleanup work. The last layer of paving will be late next week or early the following week (week of August 31st),” said Bill Conklin, Managing Director of the Ingham County Road Department.

The road is expected to be open by Labor Day and the start of school.

The project consisted of grinding up the existing asphalt, constructing a wider road grade, repaving with hot mix asphalt, and striping for center left turn lane and paved shoulders. The project also included new storm sewer, curb and gutter work, and American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant sidewalk ramp upgrades.

The $1.45 million project was funded by federal aid transportation and ICRD matching funds.
