MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The suspect of a recent armed robbery, James Oliver Bielecki, age 52, was arraigned on August 4th on multiple charges.

Bielecki was arrested after the armed robbery of the Burger King located at 2010 W. Grand River Avenue in Okemos. The robbery took place at around 6 am on August 3rd.

"Several officers responded, one of our officers gave foot-chase... the suspect fled into a wooded area near Central Park... Officers swarmed the area, and the suspect was arrested at gunpoint and handcuffed," said Sergeant Brad Bach of the Meridian Township Police Department.

No injuries were reported, and the stolen money was recovered.
