Building Permit Report Shows Increased 
Development Throughout Meridian Township

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The numbers are in regarding building permits in Meridian Township, so far this year.

The report includes all the permits, both residential and commercial, that were granted by the Township. So far in 2015 a grand total of nearly $22 million dollars was spent on development throughout the Township. Meridian Township Associate Planner, Peter Menser, explained what exactly goes into the report and what it means for the community.

"When a commercial project comes in, or a residential project, they have to say how much it will cost," said Menser. "That includes all the materials, grading, foundation, and lumber. From there we can get a good feel of how much any given project will cost."

The report also had the number of permits requested and granted for both residential and commercial projects.

A total of 18 single family residential permits were granted between the months of April and June.
