Lugnuts Snap 4-Game Skid in Comeback
Victory Over South Bend

LANSING - With the game tied 4-4 in the bottom of the 8th, the Lugnuts were in need of clutch base hit to help snap their 4-game skid. Michael De La Cruz delivered with an RBI single to push D.J. Davis across home plate.

Coming into tonight's game, Lansing had been a mediocre 9-10 in their last 19 games including losses in their last 4. In a game where starting pitcher Jesus Tinoco struggled early, allowing 2 earned runs in first couple innings, relief pitching ended up being the Lugnuts' saving grace as Dusty Isaacs pitched 3 scoreless innings to pick up the win.

Five different Lugnuts recorded an RBI while Jason Leblebijian, D.J. Davis, and Michael De La Cruz all recorded 2 hits in the 6-4 triumph over South Bend.

The Cubs had a 2-run lead on two separate occasions, once in the 2nd inning and another time in the 5th inning, but they could not hold off Lansing in a game that was filled with errors. Both teams had 3 errors on the night and for Lansing two of them resulted in runs for South Bend.

The Lugnuts have two more games in this series before beginning a 3-game series with Dayton on Friday night.
