UPDATE: OKEMOS - Following the suit of other groups and municipalities, the Meridian Township Police Department is using Facebook and Twitter to alert the community on important news. They are currently helping a woman from Laingsburg help find her lost dog, who was spotted by several community members this far south.

Other groups like the Harris Nature Center have been using Social Networking for over a year to help draw attention and alert the community.
