Recycle Your Unused Prescription Drugs in Meridian Township

Recycle Your Unused Prescription Drugs
in Meridian Township

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township is part of the Capital Area Take Back Meds program. This program aims to prevent the disposal of prescription drugs in ways that could compromise the local environment or put residents at risk.

Flushing or throwing away these expired or unused medications can negatively impact the environment. Not only can these drugs seep into the surface water and harm lard fill environments, they are at risk of being stolen and putting other lives at risk.

Luckily, you can conveniently recycle your old prescription drugs right here in Meridian Township. There is a drop box right inside the Police and Fire Department, which is located at 5151 Marsh Road in Okemos.

The controlled substances accepted at the drop box include pain relievers, anti-depressants, sleep aids, cough medications and behavior modification medications.

Any personal information listed on the prescription bottles should be blacked out or removed.
