Meridian Township's Frank Walsh Stars on QuizBusters

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - It seems that these days Township officials are not only making time for budgeting and meetings, but also to play quiz bowl.

Tuesday, Sept. 9, Meridian Township's Township Manager Frank Walsh played on the WKAR television show Quiz Busters.

The episodes were the first two to begin the new season and starred local celebs and public figures such as WLNS Emerald Morrow, former MSU basketball player Andre Hutson and even Township officials like Walsh.

Being on the show is something Walsh said is on his bucket list.

"Well I'm really excited," said Walsh. "You know I grew up in the area so I watched quiz bowl as a young kid and as a teenager and I always thought that's really exciting and I love trivia so its a perfect match tonight. I'm really looking forward to the opportunity."

In the audience, Walsh had a few supporters including his former high school teacher who helped him prepare for the competition.

"I had him as a student in government," said Keith Huntley, Walsh's former teacher. "So I was giving him some questions basically about Michigan history. It took some work but we got him to a passing grade last night so we figured he was ready."

The show is scheduled to air Saturday, Oct. 4 at 6pm and 6:30pm on WKAR-TV
