Judge Denies Injunction; New Fire 
Station to Break Ground July 22nd

UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On May 20th, Judge Joyce Draganchuck denied the second Temporary Restraining Order request from Autumn Park.

Meridian Township will begin clearing the site of the new fire station immediately and break ground on July 22nd.

The new fire station will be constructed near the intersection of Central Park Drive and Okemos Road.


ORIGINAL STORY: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Autumn Park Condominium residents have filed another lawsuit against Meridian Township for the location of the new Central Fire Station.

In this case, the residents are saying the Township Board violated the Open Meetings Act by attending the Planning Commission meetings where the fire station was discussed.

Representatives from Autumn Park and Meridian Township will go before Judge Joyce Draganchuck on Tuesday, May 20th at 9:00 a.m.

On April 30th, Judge Joyce Draganchuck denied the first Temporary Restraining Order request from Autumn Park against Meridian Township regarding the ballot language and proper procedure for the construction of a new fire station.
