Fire Station

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Construction on the temporary fire station is well underway inside the Meridian Service Center building off Okemos Road.

The framing for temporary living quarters for firefighters was recently installed as well as electrical and drywall.

A public hearing is being held Monday, April 7th at 3:30pm in the Meridian Township Municipal Building Town Hall Room by the Director of Community Planning & Development to amend an existing Special Use Permit to allow the temporary housing of one ambulance, one fire truck, and personnel in a portion of the Meridian Service Center.

The temporary fire station is anticipated to be operational the week of April 21st.

Additional Resources
The Service Center was announced as the temporary fire station location after the closing of the Central Fire Station earlier this year. The building will also continue to be used by other Meridian Township departments.
