Man Arrested After Fighting Officers

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On December 8, 2013 at 2:51 p.m., Meridian Township Police responded to a report of a naked man in the area of the 1500 block of W. Pond Dr., Okemos. Officers found the man and attempted to speak to him when he began to fight with the officers. Police from East Lansing, Michigan State University, Williamstown and Ingham County Sheriff responded to assist. Three Meridian Officers were injured in the incident. All of the officers were treated at Sparrow Hospital and released.

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to Sparrow Hospital where he remains in custody. The man has been identified as twenty-six year old Ronald Ray Ruhl. Ruhl was arraigned on the following charges: Attempt to Disarm a Peace Officer Firearm (Felony), Attempt to Disarm a Peace Officer Other Weapon (High Court Misdemeanor), three counts of Resisting and Obstructing an Officer with Injury (Felonies), and Indecent Exposure (Misdemeanor). Ruhl’s bond was set at $100,000.
