Public Hearing Held for New Whole
Foods Store

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On Monday, Nov. 18, the Planning Commission held a public hearing for the new Whole Foods store coming to Meridian Township.

Although most residents liked the idea of a Whole Foods store coming to the area, many problems were addressed at the meeting.

The main concern residents had with the proposed location, was safety, due to high traffic and lack of sidewalks.

Planning Commissioner James Selehi said, "The issues that are raised are substantial because of the complete lack of sidewalks there. Its treacherous to walk down Brook Field, I have dogs and i just walk in years because its just way too busy, and there are no sidewalks."

The Planning Commission will meet again on Nov. 25 to further discuss this issue, and possibly make a decision.
