Fall Recycling Event This Saturday

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Nancy Moore Park (2100 Gaylord C. Smith Court, Haslett) parking lot will be filled with volunteers ready to accept items to be recycled on Saturday, October 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Area residents can safely recycle a variety of unwanted items such as home electronics, computers and
computer accessories, televisions, phones and cameras. Other items include scrap metal, appliances,
bicycles and bike parts, packing peanuts, glass bottles and jars, egg cartons, and old medicines. On-site document shredding will also be available.

Last fall, more than 35 tons of electronics, metal, documents, glass, bikes, and packing peanuts were recycled or re-used.

"This event attracts residents from the entire region. The effort is only possible with a hundred volunteers and dozens of businesses and organizations," said LeRoy Harvey, Meridian Township Recycling & Energy
Coordinator.

“It’s a great time of year to clean out your basement and garage,” hints Ellen Dillman, Volunteer Coordinator for the event.

All items are free to drop off and voluntary contributions are accepted to offset costs of this event and ensure future ones. Donations will be accepted at entrances.

Please call 517-853-4466 for questions about the event. To volunteer, contact Ellen Dillman at 517-339-2015.
