Township Board Moves Forward With
Cornell Road

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Board has moved forward with their plans for Cornell Road

The Board voted to crush and shape pavement on the road, improve drainage, construct four inches of asphalt on the road and lower the hill south of Tihart Rd.

Trustee Scales said he initially didn't feel lowering the hill at Cornell and Tihart was a big concern until he walked the hill himself.

"I walked that hill and cars were coming at me so fast, I stopped, I didn't even get to the top," Scales said. "I said 'That's enough for me, we need to do something to make this safer for the residents that live right there and utilize that road on a constant basis.'"

Trustee Scales said he hopes the renovations take place some time next month.
