Nissan Dealership Receives Good News

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Zoning Board of Appeals approved the variance request set forth by Owner Joe Gilmore.

In the variance request, he stated the need for another sign due to its location (1248 Grand River Avenue) and the fact the business is surrounded by trees, making it hard to see the business stand out.

The variance request stems from a township law stating only one sign can be located flat against a building.

Gilmore wanted two.

"The other two signs are the same signs we took down in 2011 when we bought the building from Cheryl Freeboro, the Saturn dealer" Gilmore said.

After board members cleared concerns over the size of the signs they agreed unanimously in favor of giving Gilmore more signage.
