UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Park Commissioners held a special meeting earlier this month, to discuss a potential milage and grant proposals to fund area parks.

This year, the commissioners decide to fund developments in Wonch Park, North Meridian Road Park and Hillbrook Park.

There is currently one-third of a mill that is levied for park developments, but Parks and Land Management Coordinator, Jane Greenway, says it's not enough funding for what needs to be done.

Therefore they are beginning to apply for grant funding.

"The grants are very important to our parks. They're how we develop playgrounds and soccer fields and things like that, so really, they're the things that make Meridian Township special, they're the frosting on the cake." said Jane.
