Haslett Gymnastics Hosts Invitational Early in Season

Haslett Gymnastics Hosts Invitational
Early in Season

UPDATE: HASLETT - It's a new season for Haslett High School Gymnastics and already they've hosted their first invitational.

Eight teams, including East Lansing, Grand Ledge, and Holt included, were invited.

Grand Ledge took first in every competition, but Haslett wasn't far behind in most. In the beam event, Cara Clarizio finished with a 9.40, just behind the 9.45 earned by Grand Ledge's Lauren Clark.

Haslett finished second place overall, totaling 138.25 points. Grand Ledge finished first with 149.

Head coach Marcie Durso is excited about the upcoming season, despite not finishing any events in first place.

"It's a great season coming up," Durso said. "We have some great senior returners that are state qualifiers for the past couple of years, and then a great incoming freshman class. This is my nineteenth year coaching and this is probably the most talented team we've ever had across the board."
