UPDATE: OKEMOS, MI - For 36 years, musicians and music-enthusiasts could find White Bros. Music Shop at 4695 Okemos Road. After nearly four decades of business, the store will no longer be at that location. Instead, the local string shop will be operating a stone-throw away from where it used to reside. It is literally across the street.

Owner, Will White, spoke about how the move may confuse long-time customers. Most notably, the old White Bros. Music sign is still attached to the old building, and it won't be moving any time soon. The signage must once again be permitted by the zoning board of appeals despite the fact that the business and its employees have not changed. It will cost over a thousand dollars to have the face of the sign removed in a compliant way, and so the new storefront will not be adorned with it for at least a month or more.

Still, potential customers and loyal supporters of this local gem should note that the music shop is open and rolling with the changes. The new address is 4706 Okemos Road. The phone lines were down for the move, but they will be functioning by tomorrow, December 6th. Contact the store at 517-349-3806.
