Meridian Township Road Projects

Meridian Township Road Projects

UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The project most recently completed was the Park Lake Road and Burcham Drive roundabout. The project was originally set to be completed in late August, but was extended to mid-September due to the workers encountering some soil issues. The roundabout is now open to the public traffic.

The most recent project is the Haslett Road project which extends from Park Lake Road to Shaw Street. The project has progressed to Phase 2 of the storm drain and curb work between Okemos and Marsh Road.

The Haslett Road project is working in conjunction with Michigan State University, where research is being done on the materials being used in the road construction. The method of the materials being used involve heated asphalt and recycled rubber tires. This method of construction is also being used on other road projects and will be used in future road projects.

Meridian Township residents should be aware that Haslett Road between Park Lake Road and Okemos will be temporarily open for through traffic, but construction will continue with various lane closures.
