Head Shaving Event for Cancer

Head Shaving Event for Cancer

UPDATE: LANSING - A St. Baldrick’s event was held at the Guys and Dolls Salon in East Lansing last Thursday. Many people came to the Salon to have their heads shaved- a token occurrence for any St. Baldrick’s event. The organization aims to raise money to support Children’s Cancer Research, and it is the largest of it’s kind.

Salon owner, Pamela Winkler, was very excited to be hosting the event. She, along with her friends, family, and staff put together a silent auction and fifty-fifty raffle, with donations from local businesses. Additionally, Michigan State University Athletes came out to lose their locks in support of the organization and the salon.

There was a smorgasbord of food and drinks available to anyone who attended, and overall,an opaque feeling of excitement. Winkler expects that she will make this event an annual happening, and expects the number of volunteers and patrons to grow exponentially over the next few years.
