LANSING, MI - In wake of the new emergency order issued on Sunday, State Rep. Matt Maddock (R-Milford Township) called for impeachment hearings on Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
The latest order from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services suspends high school and college sports, in-person dining; closes casinos, movie theaters and bowling alleys.
Maddock took to Facebook after the announcement. In a post Sunday night, he identified a series of impeachable actions performed by Gov. Whitmer.
The impeachable offenses named in the post include ignoring court orders, weaponizing contact tracing databases to air democratic campaigns, using kids as political pawns and denying special needs students in-person learning and violating the constitutional rights of Michiganders.
In his Facebook post, Maddock also asked for people to comment on additional offenses he had not listed.
Maddockâs call for impeachment hearings is supported by six Michigan republican lawmakers.
