UPDATE: OKEMOS - Curt and Leslie Kosal, residents of Haslett recently opened a wine and beer store at 2311 Jolly Road after being in the industry for more than a decade.

Vine and Brew, a liquor store focusing not on big brands but on locally made craft beers, specialty wines, and Michigan grown food. "We think Michigan has a lot to offer. Some of the best breweries in the country," said Curt Kosal.

The Kosal's are supporting local food and hoping to receive some of that same support themselves.

Pat Ebert, a Haslett resident said, "Local businesses are important to the community, I think it's good for everybody. It employs people locally, keeps things locally." And Corey Weiss, an Okemos resident said, "It keeps the community alive, and if we can't support our community businesses and turn it over to the corporate, our community dies."

Vine and Brew recently celebrated their grand opening and Curt says they are excited about the future.
