EAST LANSING - Okemos Football will not be participating in post-season play this year, but that fact did not make their last game of the season any less exciting.
Okemos lead East Lansing 10-to-3 heading into the fourth quarter trying to hang on to the win.
East Lansing cut the lead to four as they scored on a field goal midway through the quarter.
But, the Chieftain defense proved to be too much for the Trojans to contend with, as Okemos held on for the win.
After the game head Coach Jack Wallace talked about what the win means heading into next season, and the character his team displayed throughout the year.
"It gives us momentum, hopefully carried into next seson," he said. "I think we have 19 of 22 starters returning or something like that, but more importantly, these kids are... look at em. They're just great kids who fought hard every game. We had some games we probably should have won, but just tremendous effort and attitude on their part tonight."
Okemos won three of their last four games since Jack Wallace's return to the Chieftain sideline.
