UPDATE: LANSING - On June 28, 2012, the Supreme Court upheld the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act with a ruling vote of 5 to 4.

The opposition to the law was that it was unconstitutional for a government to force citizens to pay for a service.

Under this new law, also known as the ACA law, 30 million uninsured Americans will now be insured. One of the key parts of this law is that the age of dependents under healthcare has been expanded to 26 years old.

According to CNN, this allows more than 3.1 million young adults to gain health coverage.

For Emiliano Sullivan, this is good news.

"As a 21 year old with heart problems, he makes regular visits to medical clinics. He's happy to still be on his mother's healthcare program. Otherwise, he would be uninsured.
"I'm 21, and I have some heart problems. Then I have to go into the doctor in general. Like X-rays and MRIs, anything on top of that is going to cost a lot of money. So that's useful that I don't have that debt. I already have student loans to pay off, imagine thousands of dollars worth of medical bills, and a lot of people already do have that. So it's kind of lucky," Sullivan said.

He is worried about how this new law will affect small business though.

"How that's gonna affect wages and how many people are employed in general, like, at all. It might make it kind of hard to get a job. So business are going to have a hard time paying those fees. Especially in small business," Sullivan said.
