UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Election 2012 is one of the most talked about and publicized elections thus far, and voters will be casting their votes on November 6. But are voters being fully informed about the parties that are running?
Political ads and signs have always played a great part in getting the names of people that are running for political positions. However, when voters see these ads and signs, are they simply casting their votes based on name recognition?
I spoke with a few voters who expressed their feelings regarding political signs and ads. Here's what they had to say.
"I think it's good to get the names out there and it makes people more aware of who's running and what proposals are going on."
"I look at the ads, but...if I feel like I'm not certain the ads are one hundred percent accurate, and often times they're not, I really make sure that I'm checking other media to get all sides of the story."
"The [signs] were kind of um...I think they did kind of make more sense of the proposals or helped I thought some what."
Although I found that each voter I spoke with had their own opinions regarding political propaganda, the one thing that united them together was the fact that personal research outweighed the propaganda.
