UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The weather is warming up faster then usual and homeowners are trying to keep up with the changes. Homeowner, Jim Miller said, "It's a lot of work at the beginning of the year. And I try to get it done as early as possible so I can enjoy the summer."
It's that time of year again, time to get your lawn back in shape. You can first visit your local greenhouse and seeing if their are any new products for the season. This year they recommend using Milky Spore to kill grub or Preen to prevent weeds.
So where should you begin?
With the weather coming sooner then ever, homeowners are holding off on some of their projects.
Miller said, "I haven't really gotten far yet at all, I've got a lot to do. I'm not really sure what to do yet because it could still snow. I'm going kind of job by job, not getting too much started yet, usually this doesn't start until April."
But no matter how much you have left to go, make sure your home is well protected if you plan to leave for Spring Break. Meridian Township police can help.
Lieutenant Greg Frenger said,"We also offer a vacation property check free of charge to residents. They can either call the station and ask us to do their property check or they can get on our website and request it through our website."
So with the season coming early, what to start on right now?
"I've already fertilized the grass, working on the patio, I'm going to hold off on the pool for awhile and maybe start on some landscaping," said Miller.
If you are interested in a property check request by Meridian Township police you can find the form on the township website under the police department tab.
